I have an Asus FX505-GE and ever since I've bought the laptop, whenever I'm plugging in anything that is a jack device, a notification pops-up as in this picture.
But upon clicking whatever mode suits me (most of the time it's Headset) whatever device I plugged in, it's still labeled as "Speakers". Picture here
All audio drivers are updated from the manufacturer's website, so I'm not sure what the problem is.

Is this normal behaviour or is some sort of malfunction on my end?

What BIOS version are you currently on for your laptop? 307? What OS version are you on? ideally you should be on 21H1. As for your audio drivers, try and uninstall said audio drivers , reboot, then manually install audio drivers sourced from Asus's support site for your laptop, in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator.

Make and model of your audio equipment(s)?

BIOS Version is 304. OS Version is 1909, I haven't updated yet due to some problems with the SSHD.
I have already uninstalled and manually installed those drivers multiple times and had a lot of headaches with it due to some unknown problems, even though I followed the steps as careful as possible. Sometimes the microphone wouldn't work, some other time only the sound from speakers would work. I barely managed to make them work as it is now.

I have an Asus Cerberus as headset.
