Headset sound not working

I recently got the Logitech headset, with the "pink and green" plugins, rather than the USB and i cannot get sound to work. I used to use a USB headset and that worked fine. The main problem is when i plug it in, it doesn't show up in the playback but a red window will pop and say "line in".
-Im running a Gigabyte motherboard so I got all the new drivers for the HD audio.
-I have tried restarting, even after every driver download

I only got the microphone to work because i Enabled "microphone" which ithought was funny because even that was labeled with the correct name of my headset.

right click on the speaker icon on the bottom right hand screen. click on "PLAYBACK DEVICES" then look for a device that is similar to the one you are using. select that. I bet you will have sound
