A headset with no mic are headphones. Are you looking just for gaming or also music?

Agree, without a mic they are just headphones. Any marketing that uses the word ‘gaming’ is just pure marketing with no meaning.

I purchased the HyperX Cloud Alpha headphones and have been exceptionally pleased with them (had about a year). The microphone is easily detached and is small enough to easily "store" when not in use. The HyperX Cloud II has almost the same sound characteristics and also has the removable mic. and can often be found on sale.
