Hearing 3 beeps after trying new ram and installing old ram

Hi. Heres my computer info:

GPU: Nvidia Geforce 7900GS
Processor: AMD Athlon II X3 435

Right, so i recently bought http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145238
in hope of replacing my two sticks of 1 GB ram that I had. However, after I put them in my motherboard and turned the computer on, I heard the 3 beeps that signify a RAM problem. Everything turned on (motherboard fan, gpu fan etc.) but there would be no display on my monitor. So I tried using my old ram and now I still get the 3 beeps and no display. I tried each old 1 GB ram stick in both of my 2 slots alone and still no luck. I tried swapping out my gpu and still no luck. I'm starting to suspect its a motherboard problem. What do you guys think?

It may be that your RAM is not properly seated. Did you press firmly (but not too hard) and bet the RAM to click into the slots? I suggest reseating the RAM first. If it is something else eliminate this potential problem first.

My gut feeling is that the BIOS is getting confused by the different speeds / sizes of the ram in it.

Try popping the battery out of the holder by using a flat screwdriver to gently push on the metal plate. Leave it out for 15 minutes and then put it back in. The BIOS will forget what it knew about everything in the past and re-learn everything.

This may clear up any confusion it has about what types/speeds/etc of RAM to use.

Don't hesitate to do this process a couple different times if it doesn't work the first time. I have seen some pretty strange things, including a case where it took multiple BIOS resets to get new RAM to work.

I experienced exactly the same problem yesterday (Friday). It beeped because I manually closed those tiny white clips over the RAM instead of pressing the RAM itself until the clips, umm, clip by themselves.
