My computer freezes frequently when playing Hearthstone. I happens like this:

I play the game, and suddenly out of nowhere everything freezes, and I have to hard-reset the machine. So far it only seems to be happening when I'm playing Hearthstone.

This only started today. Just 3 days ago I had no problems with this.

I've been looking around the internet to try and fix the problem, but it's a jungle out there, and it's really hard for me to pinpoint the exact problem, as I'm not getting any dump files.

I don't know what my next step should be, but I have to have this problem fixed. If you guys can point me in the right direction, I'll be very greatful.

Imporant edit: It seems like Hearthstone ain't the problem. I've created a new and more relevant thread: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2599880/instant-computer-freezes-set-event-ids.html

Solution
You can try to look at the crash events in Event Viewer.
Star hearthstone, let it crash, see if the computer will restart it self, then when the computer comes back up, go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Application. In there you'll see events for well, everything.
Look for Error events around the time hearthstone crashed, they likely will be associated with hearthstone as well.
You can also check the System log for driver type crashes.

You might want to try running hearthstone as a program by itself with no other programs running because it's possible you're getting a conflict.

I tried this. Thought this was the answer, but just a few seconds ago I had yet another crash.

Coming to think of it, there might be a correlation with the crashes and Hearthstone + Youtube (Twitch or Youtube) + Hearthstone Decktracker.

Isn't there any tools I can get to identify the issues?

Solution

It seems like we're slowly nearing a solution.

I did check my event viewer after the latest crash. But I kinda don't know what to with the information given to me.

Maybe you can help?

I have two errors one in the "Application" section and one in "System".

Looking even further back (just for today) these are the errors/critical/warnings I see in the log:

I hope this information can help you to help me 🙂

I just did this: http://www.itexperience.net/2010/10/29/event-10016-the-application-specific-permission-settings-do-not-grant-local-launch-permission-for-the-com-server-application-with-clsid-c97fcc79-e628-407d-ae68-a06ad6d8b4d1/

Hope this will solve the problem.
