heat compound sticked in the back of my core 2 duo e8400

hey. ive ordered a e8400 from ebay for a old crapy cpu. and the seller inclueded the thermal paste with it. but some of the thermal paste leaked in the back of the proccesor. i cleaned with cotton. but i can see there's a bit oily or something. i havnt used it yet. so some one tell me will this be a problem?
