Heat Spreader seperated from my RAM

As the title says when I was rebuilding my PC, the heat spread separated from the actual RAM. On the inside of the spread is like a sticky substance almost like a piece of double sided sticky tape. To remedy the situation I was either thinking A remove that tape and put new double sided sticky tape on it, B Put a couple drops of super glue on the spreader, Or C but the Spreaders back on with the lock overnight and hope that it sticks better. Please let me know your guys opinion because I spent a decent amount on this RAM and don't want to wreck it.

All my OCZ memory had heat spreaders the same way(they never fell off, but do not touch all the chips any more It was like a metal strip with holes in it[not even good for a heatsink at all] held on by 2 way tape.). You can RMA, but unless it is running at VERY high speeds and voltage it will not matter.

I would NOT use superglue as it melts plastic and would be quite warranty voiding. Contacting the memory maker is the first thing to do.

The sticky stuff is a thermal pad. It is like double sided sticky tape, but I'm pretty sure double sided sticky tape cannot be used as subsitute - you'd have to buy actual thermal pads (for example - http://www.amazon.com/Akasa-ak-tt12-80-Thermal-Adhesive-Tape/dp/B001GIM9V8)

I would try C (B is out because superglue is a terrible idea since I'm sure it doesn't conduct heat well and A is out for the reason above) - if it sticks again fine, but I wouldn't be too worried about not making good contact with the heat spreader since it's mostly for show, anyway.

If your 2133 or less and 1.6 volts or less then pretend you did not see it, it will be just fine. Or you could simply remove the heat spreader and leave it off, but don't put super glue on the RAM chips. If they are running good they are not broken and don't need fixed

Alright thanks guys, I put the spreaders back on and put the clip on it and we will see in the morning. Its 2133 corsair vengeance pro, I guess I could RMA if I had to but I just really don't wana mess with it either. Thanks for the quick replies

Well first time I have seen this on Corsair memory, but these things happen. If it does bother you RMAing would be best since it would not void the warranty.
