Question Heating issue on sapphire trix amd r9-290

Hello good folks. I want to know how to install thermal pads on a gpu. Yesterday I installed thermal pads on my graphics card. I only installed the pads on the card but not on the heat sink. Shall I install the thermal pads on both heat sink and the card? I mean will it not create a space between the heatsink and the processor of the card if I use a double layer thermal pads.

thermal pads should be placed on ram modules and VRM chips

Also in the gpu itself you would want to use thermal paste. Just sure that your are careful to not get it onto about surrounding areas as some paste is conductive.

I used thermal pads as well as thermal paste. But I think my heat sink is still not working. I mean when I play a game the temperature increases rapidly. Then I checked my gpu and found that my gpu card was heated but the heat sink remained cool.

Make sure you have enough airflow to. Those 290s were known to run a bit warm if I remember.

What kind of temps are you seeing?
Case setup?
Fan speeds?

The TriX 290 runs a good deal cooler than most 290s out there, but without numbers its hard to say.

Okay so my pc specs are:
intel core i5-8400 2.80 ghz - 4.00ghz
corsair vengence 8gb 2400mhz
Sapphire R9-290 TriX 4GB
mobo- giganyte aorus b360m gaming 3
Toshiba 1TB
PSU- corsair CX-600 series



in my case I have 2 1300rpm 120 mm fans running
Also before entering a game I use to run my gpu fan at 100%
but still i can't resolve the heating issue
