Heatsink connections

The broken heatsink fan connects with long screws. The replacement has pushpin action. Will this work?

As long as it's compatible with your socket, yes, it will work fine.

Stock intel CPU fans always come with that push pin style.

If you have to start adjusting the fan, pulling the prongs up and down repeatedly, be careful. Those prongs at the bottom are cheap and bend. Once they bend and start to warp, they can be a huge pain.

Well. I didn't try to change thefan. There are four prongs on the MB and only three holes in the fan's connector.

Sounds like I have the wrong fan?

Update: Found out that the connector fits in a certain configuration. Hopefully this isn't bad.
