For the last week I've been trying to find hole dimensions for my motherboard (currently a asus a7v333, socket A) around the socket. Holes that are intended for heatsink designers to use. But I have had no luck.

So basicly I'm just asking if anyone has any idea where to get the speccs.

Just trying to make it comfortable to work with.

Try using a ruler. Most Athlon heatsinks don't use the mounting holes anyway, as the majority of mainboards have tall capacitors blocking the mounting of such a heatsink.

The hole placement are as follows. This is taken from the AMD XP Thermal Mechanical and Chassis Cooling Design Guide - Doc 23794 Page 18.

If you make a square where the center of the holes are each corner, then the square would be 1.332in by 2.602in or 33.82mm by 66.09mm.

The best thing to do is, whatever heatsink you decide you may want to go with, that mounts to the holes on the motherboard, go to the heatsink manufacturers site, and check their Motherboard compatability charts, most of them do have the charts to confirm a sale of their product, and then you will have no doubt it will work with your MB. Thats what I did with mine, I'm running the Swiftech MCX462, You can find motherboard compatability information from their site that may help you even if you want to use a different brand at http://www.swiftnets.com
