Question Heatsink pad thickness?

I'm giving my son's gigabyte gtx1050 ti a clean and when I removed the heatsink the pads on the vram disintegrated! I've found the pads on feebay but I'm not sure of the thickness 1,2 or 3mm any ideas please chaps?

Can you measure them at all? You might need to ask gigabyte.

Well from what's left of them they are 1mm but they have been squashed in-between the heatsink and memory so I'm assuming they where thicker than that to begin with.

Will gigabyte actually answer a question like that?

Email their tech support and find out.

Pads aren't the same either. You can't just buy a 1mm or 2mm pad and assume because the thickness is the same you are good. They should have a thermal rating, or how good they are at transferring heat. Without knowing that you could get a 1mm pad that doesn't do the job.
