First time to build. Got the MOBO Asus 88X, Ram,PSU and the AMD "A" cpu...7850K Getting all set to prepare installing the CPU, which looks easy enough, but got intimidated looking at the heatsink that came with it. The manual is so small, one needs a magnify glass to read it. There is a gadget that is loose that protrudes almost through the center of it ..i suspect its to lock it to the cpu...but i do not know how it works. I'd gladly include a picture of it, if its allowed in this forum. The ones I've watched on youtube show it differently, but I guess its Intel, which u just press down on all 4 corners...but not this one.

Well i finished my first build...but not without a mishap. The cpu went in nicely, and I moved that lever down and under . I had a little problem with the heatsink locking it in place. Finally as i got the hang of it, one end wouldn't fit in that small opening, so i pulled off the HS and to my surprise my cpu came up attached to it, cause of the 'paste'....now i really screwed up..i aligned the HS over the socket after removing the cpu and reinstalled the cpu and finally got to lock it in. BTW, I thought that lever that one lifts before placing the cpu , locks it in place? Apparently the paste was strong enough to attach itself to the HS as I pulled up. Anyhow, i installed the ram and the PSU...so now comes the big test...booting..tomorrow. I am doing the test without a hd...just want to see if I am good to go.
