Being in AZ, I'm a thermal hound. I like my equipment running as cool as possible at all times
Ive had these little heatsinks laying around for a while now & I think I can put them to good use on my new Z490 board
Im only running a 10700K in her & heaviest loads I run are games. I know there is no real need especially on this board but like I said I have thermal OCD
Now Im not the most tech savvy guy on the planet so I thought I'd ask if this was a bad idea or not. I'm sure it couldnt hurt, right?

They won't hurt...but they won't do any good at all. What you put them on are the chokes and they are not heat sensitive.

The FET's (the active devices in the VRM that are thermally sensitive) on the motherboard already looks to have pretty decent heatsinking. It looks nicely finned and probably about as good as it can get. The only thing that might help is locating a fan to blow on them. If you're using liquid cooling that can be especially beneficial as the waterblock lacks any fans to blow air around in that area.

Yeah...shows how much I know...I just found out that these were actually chokes. I thought these were the mosfets themselves lmao...
This board has huge heavy chunky sinks, especially the one connected to the IO. Solid metal
Im over the idea.
Thanks <3

P.S. Yeah plenty of airflow in my case
