Heatsinks..?

Anyone know if it will be possible to use the current line of heatsinks\fans for the Althon in the future AMD processors? (Thoroughbred, Barton...Clawhammer)

I think they will if the Socket remains the same. But they could give more heat then the CPU's now do, which will require a larger heatsink.

My case has so many fans that it hovers above the ground 😱 .

Hey svol, congrats on getting the sig of the week changed!

In all likelyhood the new hammer series will not use the same socket. Whether or not the current generation of HSF clips will connect at the same spot is unknown. If you're screwing the HSF into the mobo with the 4 anchor holes (not the clips) then it it likely, but not certain, that this will still work on the new mobo's.

In other words, I have no idea!

AMD was planning on staying with the socket a platform for a while....
i mean, it has been a while...but it was supposed to be longer than just the xp....
