When I first power on my computer, the load is very heavy and drives up the cpu temp. This is beyond the load of just bootup, and never comes back down. The temp drives up to nearly 80C and eventually the computer will freeze, forcing me to hit the reset button. Rinse and repeat about 7 or 8 freezes/reset/reboots and then inexplicably the load goes down to under 5% and stays there, and in that state, the freezes stop. I don't know why the load stays so high (according to CAM) even when the computer isn't even running a browser, nor do I know why rebooting a bunch of times eventually resolves it.
