I'm trying to hookup two Wavlink 1800s in repeater move. I live in a rural area where we have no internet. Decided to go with a Starlink setup and bought two Wavlink repeaters to get signal out around my property. Got the first repeater hooked up just fine. Second picks up the first repeater but will only let me hook up to it with no internet? Anyone have any idea why it won't repeat the first repeater wifi signal? Thanks

Thank you for your response.
Second one acts just like the first one during setup. Once I put all the same info in, I can't access the wavlogin.link page. I was reading that someone said I should have changed the first repeater SSID along with the second repeater. I didn't do that. I set them up exactly the same way. Put the same Starlink password, same admin password, same network password. I get full bars on signal but my phone connects fine to releater but with no wifi connection. Hope that makes sense. Hooking one I have no issues. Its connecting the second one to the first thats getting my goat.

Also, no I never unplugged the first repeater while doing the second. The second repeater doesn't get wifi signal without first repeater being plugged in. (Wavlink 1800)

How much distance or area needs to be covered?

This extender?

Conceptually it seems to make sense from a "daisy chaining" aspect.

However, it is likely that you are encountering the subsequent problems of doing so.

FYI:

https://www.lifewire.com/can-i-use-... You Daisy Chain Wi,is connected to the first.

Not sure (full disclosure) if the situation is fixable or not. Other options may need to be considered.

Read the above links. Search/Google for similar links as warranted.

Hopefully there will be other ideas and suggestions as more becomes known about the requirements and environment.

I don't know details about wavelink.

So repeaters in general are a hack that are using a unofficial method to bypass the mac address limitation that is part of the wifi encryption standards. Although not official most vendors use what is called WDS. This hack does not allow repeater to talk to repeater.

The systems that might work are so called "mesh" units. All the vendors are using their own systems to get past this mac address limitation. I suspect they intentionally make this proprietary so you have to buy all your wifi stuff from them. You would have to read the details on the different systems if they allow multiple hops.

It is not a recommended configuration every wifi hop you have adds another place your data can be damaged. The signals from the repeaters actually interfere with each other.
