In advance of an upcoming RL event that will, more than liekely, force me
to abandon a good deal of my MMORPG time, I picked up the platinum edition
of NWN last night.

So, being fairly expereinced with CRPGs in genereal, and most of the D&D
based ones (BGI, IWD I and II and most of the old SSI games) is there
anything in specific I should know??

From previous posts, I know it wouldn't be a bad idea to go to the WotC
website and read what they have on the 3rd editon rules (or is NWN 3.5???).

I will, of course, patch it up to the latest levels.

NWN is 3.0. Reading the manual is pretty much all you really need to
know, but if you really want to learn some stuff, then it wouldn't hurt
to pick up the D&D PHB (for 3.5, because the differences aren't that
big) and read through that a little. But mainly the game takes care of
everything, so unless you want to know all the details of what's
happening behind the scenes, then your biggest concern is just which
race/class you want, and if you want to multiclass, and general
character issues like that.

WotC? What is WotC? Do you have a URL for the site?

Thanks.

Nice site! What I'm looking for though is a FAQ that explains the changes
from 2nd edition to 3rd, especially regarding weapons. Do you know where
any might be located?

You could try this link, it highlights some of the revisions made from
earlier versions to version 3.5. Other than that I'd suggest getting
hold of the new v3.5 PH or DMG (links on this page as well).
