Question hello guys just a quick vote if this deal is worth it (i7 4770K system for 80 bucks)

i7 4770K+H97 gigabyte motherboard +2x8gb of DDR3 memory ,
gtx 1650 4gb , 256 ssd+2tb hdd , cooler master 550w power supply , activated windows 10

(as it happens i have a Z97 motherboard at home so there will be overclocking ,
i also got another 4+2gb of DDR3 memory at home)

the price is only 80€ (which is like 92 USD) and the seller lives just 25 miles away .
there is also an option to replace the video card for quadro P2000 5gb
(should be basically the same chip as gtx 1060 just different drivers if i´m not mistaken)
(it should also be possible to maybe install GTX drivers on this card (with any luck)
i´m pondering if this card with more VRAM and more powerful core
will perform better perhaps and for the same price
(there are no direct comparison benchmarks to gtx 1650 available - at least i could not have find any)

the plan is to try to push it to max stable OC and benchmark it in counter strike 2 (mainly)
and perhaps use it as a secondary PC or sell it later .

Model of the PSU and it's age? Make and model of the ram kit? make and model of the storages? Make and model of the case?

The sweet spot for Haswell was DDR3-2133MHz or if you were lucky DDR4-2400MHz, dual channel ram kit, with tight latencies.

In 2025, you shouldn't be investing in tech that old. If you're looking at a retro build to put up on your shelf, sure but for daily tasks, it's moot investment, IMHO. Windows 10 also runs aground towards the end of this year.

yeah i´m aware of the shortcomings
when it comes to windows i´m pretty sure i will be able to update it freely to windows 11 if need be .
the graphics card is the biggest dilema
that quadro with GP 106 processor looks pretty good overall in a 80 bucks rig .
i don´t know if anyone here has the experience with trying to put gaming drivers on it
or just try to game on it as is ...
the price i think is good for such a bundle i just wanted to double check .
(of course i´m not expecting it to run latest AAA titles)

if i decide to keep it than it will be connected to an older 60Hz 1080p samsung TV

I've got three i7-4770K systems (amongst others) and two of them are overclocked to a mild 4.2GHz at fixed 1.250V. You should be able to reach 4.4GHz with 1.300V, maybe 4.5GHz+ if you're prepared to push even more voltage.

I have a GTX 1650 in my media player system (i3-4160) and it performs adequately at 4K 30Hz on an OLED TV. I also have a couple of 2.5GB Quadro P4000 GPUs somewhere (only 18 Euros each) and a GTX 1060 too.

I use old computers for testing disk drives, re-flashing HBA cards and general messing around with software, before installing on newer systems. As general purpose computers, my i7-4770K systems still give me good service.

I've no idea if this will be your main system or an addition to your collection. At 80 Euros I say go ahead. It might be old, but you don't need the latest hardware for everything. A modern system will cost considerably more and 80 Euros will only make a small dent in the cost of a new PC.

i´m pretty sure i will be able to update it freely to windows 11 if need be
I've just installed Windows 11 with Rufus on this i5-4670K which is currently checking a Lexar SATA SSD for errors in Hard Disk Sentinel.

i also got another 4+2gb of DDR3 memory at home)
I'd caution against installing mismatched DIMMs, epecially if they're different capacities. They'll probably work, but in a mixture of Single and Dual Channel modes.

yes i know , maybe i leave it at matching 2x8gb and try to push memory to higher frequency also .

would you say quadro p2000 5gb is better , compared to gtx 1650 if playing older titles
and testing it in cs2 is the main objective ?

no it will not be my main rig , my main pc is in my description
this would be just for troubleshooting , maybe watching a movie from time to time
and to play some older titles at 60Hz TV .

As a sum of parts for $92 I would say mostly yes.

The DDR3 is probably $5 a stick or so according to your market. The 4770K and mobo are going to be your "selling points" and would look close at used market in your area under "sold". The rest is mostly nickel and dime.

This close to W10 EOL, I wouldn't unless I had a specific need for it. If the case is cool and it all looks good together I might have been able to sell this sub $200 last year. This year it seems that systems trapped on 10 are selling like the trash MS wants to make them.

Not for nothing....load Bazzite and see how it works out.

And sweet spot for DDR3 is 1600mhz
Agreed. My i3-4160 failed at DDR3-1866 overclock the other day after a year of working fine. I reduced it to DDR3-1600 without bothering to test again at 1866MT/s.

If you don't mind reinstalling Microsoft's latest OS after each major release, Windows 11 will work on an i7-4770K with Rufus.

I installed Windows 11 Pro on an old AMD A8-5600K APU (released October 2, 2012) as an experiment. It runs OK in 16GB RAM on a 120GB Intel SSD.

No need to scrap old hardware after October 14, 2025 if you still want to use Windows. It just takes a bit more effort to keep things up to date.

Admittedly you lose out on additional security if you don't have TPM 2.0, but it's feasible.

Its a pretty good deal for 80 Euros, older parts for sure, but still usable for esports and low end gaming. If you care about having an up to date version of Windows after October, you could do a fresh install of Windows 11 with a modified installer, it should run just fine.
