Sorry in advance i tried searching my problem usually i can find solutions for most anything this time i have a weird situation with my hard drives

At the moment my windows 7 is installed on my second hard drive wd 2 tb black drive, i am trying to install to plug in my ssd drive to runs scan on it, as im not quite sure its failing and i may need to rma it, the problem is when i plug in my ssd samsung 840 evo , bios doesnt recognize my hdd?

i have had them both functioning at the same time, but my ssd was my boot drive and my wd as my game storage drive, but i was having problems so i installed windows on my second drive, now im just trying to run scans and possibly clear both drives to reinstall windows 7 on my ssd to be certain that i have a problem with it, but i want to get my ssd installed now as a back up, to run scans basically i don't know why it won't recognize my hdd as my boot drive when my ssd is plugged in

mobo is asus m5a99fx pro r2.0

Hey there, ComputerNoobFace!

From what I understand, it seems like you have Windows installed on both drives, right? It's possible that you have booting issues and trouble recognizing one or the other because of an OS confusion. I'd also encourage you to backup your data to a different storage device (like an external HDD) and start from scratch with your storage configuration. Have you also tried swapping the SATA cables and ports? I'd also suggest you to check the mobo's website for any driver updates (SATA/chipset) or a newer BIOS version. Here's a guide about SSD & HDD optimization you might find useful. Just follow the step-by-step.

Keep me posted if you need further assistance! Good luck! :)
