I'm looking to build a new gaming pc and am looking for some advice. I have selected the parts here and would appreciate any suggestions and improvements that can be made. I have a budget of about $2500-3000USD
thanks

that is a nice build. I was thinking of staying AMD this time as i was reading up on the Ryzen 7 7800X3D vs. Core i7-13700K, but have not decided on that particular processor as yet. I still have the budget for it, but is it any better over the i7?

currently i play at 1920x1080 @144hz, but i am getting a 4k monitor for this rig (not part of this budget)
If you're going 4K then I would go with the one true 4K gpu which happens to be the RTX 4090.

Speaking from experience... this is true. The 4090 is a beast that devours 4K like no other. :ROFLMAO:

I did want to mention I got a big grin on my face looking at that fps chart you linked... only because I've had like 18 different Youtube/PCPP trolls tell me I made a mistake getting the 7950x3D over the 7800x3D.

Ummmm... is the 2 fps advantage the 7800x3D has in gaming worth losing 8 cores for productivity tasks? I don't think so. Well worth the $300 difference. It's even less of a concern when the 4K is mostly handled by the GPU anyway. The 8 extra cores is valued a lot higher by me than 2 fps I don't even need.

But for strictly gaming... by all means... go 7800x3D.

too many good suggestions :D I knew this was the best place to ask. Outside of gaming my most tasking action on my pc is writing up my master's submissions. browsing and email are the most arduous tasks. I am going to re-purpose my old pc into a linux box for browsing the internet, watching video's and other minor tasks. this pc is just to play games, of which a lot will be Elden Ring :)

i've gone to 32GB ram ty @Zerk2012 and the 1000w PSU @Why_Me ty both! I will go with the 7800X3d :)

Well here's my obligatory "go 4K and you won't regret it" post.

I didn't know Top Gear was a game :p the wingsuit guy pulled his parachute just before he crashed into the banner :D

I think i am set on the parts listed, the only decision i have now is whether i go for the 4090 and a 4k monitor or the 7900XTX and that Dell monitor. Mind you @TravisPNW - that vid is seriously tempting me to go 4k + 4090.

If you can swing it you won't regret it. OLED is also recommended. I've been running OLEDs exclusively for the last 6 years... great for home theater and gaming. The blacks make all the difference.
