Help 1066 ram on g31m-es2l

please help anyone !

ive purchased a g31m-es21l gigabyte mboard and ocz ddr2 1066mhz reaper ram along with a q6600 !
I need help with how to install the ram onto the board i.e how to overclock it so it will take the 1066 instead of 800.
in the description it says it will take it !!
please any assistance will be much appreciated

full spec of new built is : q6600 go slacr
g31m-es2
his hd4670 1gb iceq
4gb ocz reaper hpc 1066mhz
qpack 2 case
wd 500gb sata

Since 1066 is overclocked, you need to set the timings and voltage manually.

im not to bad at basic building but never tweaked any system like that ! How do you go about that nimble knuckle ? and cheers for the reply

You need to go in the BIOS, set your RAM to Manual and adjust the timings and voltage as per the manufacturer's specs. It would be easier if you provided a link to your modules. Running them at 1066 MHz will not increase performance much if you have to loosen the timings. Can you use CPU-Z and post the info from the Memory and SPD tabs?

system isnt built yet but will try what you said this week when i build it and will try and post reply with info for more help cheers for replies nimble ! looking forward to bulding new system just sold my other q6600 build which had 800 ram in it !

comand rate t2
voltage at min 2.1 v and max 2.3 v

just reboot pc press on boot screen delete button and look for advance tweak dram settings...good luck mate
