help! 1440p via hdmi

So i bought dell 1440p monitor and i have old gpu gts 450...i connected monitor and gpu via hdmi cable, but on settings it shows max resolution 1080p...why is not showing 1440p resolution?

Your graphics card likely doesn't support such a high resolution.

Do you know which hdmi version your gpu has? It will need to be 1.3 or above.

Dell s2417dg 2560x1440p and Palit gts 450...i tried new hdmi that supports UHd resolution...Gpu only have vga and hdmi connections...it is the first time that i have 1440p monitor and soon I will buying new rig with gtx 1080...but now i just want see that 1440p resolution on my old rig...
