Help! 280x crashing in games

So the story goes like this: I have an XFX 280x Black edition that's ran fine since ~February. Last week I decide I want to do crossfire, so I order the second card. I get it all hooked up, to find nothing but crazy colors then a system crash. I do some research and find out that the new GPU was faulty and at that point I ship it back to amazon for a refund. Now, the 280x that was fine before is having some problems. When launching ANY game, it runs for about 1 minute, then the video cuts out and the sound starts repeating really fast indefinitely. When it does that I have no option but to shut it down by force.

Any help with this situation would be greatly appreciated. Full system specs follow:
