HELP! 8700k, 8600k, 7700k. Which one for streaming/gaming/editing?

Hello! I am looking to build a new pc and upgrade from my stock pc bought from Best Buy. (yes, i know i shouldn't have bought a prebuilt pc, and no its not a nice pc, but at the time, i was in need of one and didn't want to build one).

Why I want my pc:
gaming 1080p 144hz, or even 1440p
streaming
video editing

So originally, i wanted to get the 7700k. But now, seeing the new CPUs from intel, I'm debating if i should get the 8700k or 8600k, OR stick with the 7700k. I am aware that with the new CPUs, you need a new mobo, but that doesn't affect me since I don't own a z170 or z270 board. Also, I can get the 7700k right now for $260 from MicroCenter.

So far, this is what I'm thinking of getting for my PC build:

CPU: 7700k, 8600k, or 8700k
MotherBoard: z270 Maximus IX Formula or z370 Maximus X Hero
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH D15 or H100i v2 (will upgrade to EK water cooling)
RAM: Team NightHawk RGB 16GB (2x8) DDR4 3000 Black
Storage: Samsung 960 Pro 512GB & Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM
GPU: Asus ROG 1080ti Strix Gaming OC
PSU: Be Quiet! Dark Pro 11 750W
Case: Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ATX Tempered Glass (gray)

If you got the money, there's no reason going anything below the 8700K, amazing CPU to pair up with the 1080Ti.

Even the 8600K put up a fight with the 7700K so that's a big no go for the Kaby CPU now. As you're thinking about getting a K chip as well, so that's a point for a Coffee chip.

So, IMHO, if you can, grab the 8700K, if you can't afford that high, the 8600K is you way to go.

Just a question on why you are only looking at Intel? If you are looking to be primarily video editing and streaming, Ryzen is the way to go.

Gamersnexus compared the stream quality between the R7 1700x to the i7 7700k, while on your screen, the game play looks smooth and great however, on the viewers end was dropping frames. It would produce a smoother experience for the viewer even with the R7 performing 5-10 fps behind the i7.

hmm. Well I actually never looked into ryzen products. But I wouldn't mind getting a ryzen cpu. Do you know which ones go against the 8700k or 8600k? Thanks!

yea money MIGHT be a problem for getting the 8700k. I'm not sure if I should pull the trigger on the 8700k for $415 since its scarce at the moment.

Well, depends on your price range. Like I said, you would be looking at about a 5-10 fps loss but better quality on the viewer end.

I would look at the R7 1700x.
