Help a first time builder out?

this will be my first time building a pc mainly because its cheaper,
I have a budget of about 1000 (including tax and shipping i live in california)
the main uses will be Editing with AAE, Premiere, and some gaming
I dont care if its intel or AMD
also will i be able to run most games on high? (Crysis, COD 4, L4D2, maybe a little SC2, games like that)
Resolution : 1920 x 1080

Also if they're any improvements i can make and stay in my price range please let me know what they are.

So does this project suggest that Mercury Playback does not actually affect the performance of the editor? Not necessarily. This project consists of compressed 640×480 video footage. These small video files were being eaten alive by the massive 1090T hexa-core processor and 8GB of RAM. Premiere Pro CS5′s increased performance with multi-core systems coupled with bleeding fast hardware will make fast work of any simple projects such as this, not giving the GPU enough work to really make a difference. These results do suggest that if you’re editing small-time video footage, you will not benefit much from using Mercury Playback.

I can second most of what batchuka suggested. The motherboard didn't really convince me though. The reviews for this motherboard actually look ok, but if it were my main build I would go with something a little more trustworthy, such as a GIGABYTE GA-890GPA-UD3H http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128435. An extra 65 bucks would upgrade your CPU to a 1090T for about 10~20% overall gain on CPU intensive tasks.

Since you asked, both your build and batchuka's will run most games on high @ 1900x1200. As for Crysis, the old VGA hog, just don't do AA nor max the shader settings and you should be ok.

theres also an MSI mobo I was looking at the runs about $109 with a combo and the one vv there is $108 with $15 instant

1. Unless someone finally posts a factual tabulated data of all mobo brands at the *same* pricepoint and % RMA when freshly bought, etc one should refrain from assuming brand X > Y because all/any mobo maker makes both gems/lemons at various price points. If one has no need for 8/8 CF any 890GX is a painful and useless top up

2. Also negative on premium paid for 1090T:
