Hey hardware guys out there! I'm alien to this world of hardware, I simply dont speak you guys' language (Im fluent in english,c++ and a little Espanol) but im trying! A lot of these things i dont understand. I'm looking to ditch the pc's and build that famous 'console killer' that will last me at least to the 'next next gen' of gaming.

I have found this $600 build which should fair me well when it comes to exceeding the ps4 and running games like bf4 on ultra or high(i think, please tell me if otherwise).

http://gyazo.com/f762c4a07a0c38c9f6812eb3420fa76d <-----SPECS

So on to my main question/request, are there cheaper or better parts out there that can be replaced in this build? What do you think of it? Will it run bf4 on ultra or even newer games on ultra?
I essentially want to optimize this build but since i dont know jack squat about the hierarchy of things like cpu's and gpu's i barely know where to start.

Please note, there are 4gb of ram instead of 8 & 500gb instead of 1tb of storage because the person who made this wanted to have more money to put into the Graphics card. Is this a good idea?

And sorry if this is the wrong section, couldn't find a build section.

Solution
It looks pretty good but I really must insist on 8GB instead of 4GB. It's really only 20 dollars more

The PSU will work but there is a 500 watt evga PSU for 30 after MIR on newegg.

Having the two pcie cables will offer more stability if he were to overclock the card with a more stable psu. The 760 requires 2 6 pin connectors, adapters are ok I guess but not using them is a plus for overclocking

The motherboard could take a 20 dollar upgrade to this maybe

The extra oc ability is worth 20 bucks,

If you feel you might want to keep what you have, it will work perfectly.
Get an 8320, much better processor, get 8gb of RAM, 1tb, and a 7970. You also should get a 650W PSU and an ATX mid motherboard, then an ATX mid case, because there is absolutely no way you're getting the 760 (or 7970) in there without cutting out your drive bay.

Solution

im going for less than $620

Yea thats cool ewok, though for the 6300, maybe non LE version for better oc's/vrm heatsinks? Atx is pretty much the main way to roll.

Im sure you are right, but all these words are about to make my head explode. If you could make that pcpartfigure thing you sent me with your suggestions for less than $650 i will be forever grateful.

And thank you so much i would have bought that crappy setup and now known better so thanks a lot.

Yea v true, sry was just trying to help out 😛 Working in a budget is always tough.

Again, thank you very much, but here is the million dollar question. Couldn't I go with 500 gigs of storage and get rid of the cd drive, then put more money into a better graphics card or more ram or anything else? Also I'm not too knowledgeable on over clocking will it make a lot of difference? Also over clocking is applicable to the cpu and gpu right?

Hey, it's your computer. I'm not sure why you wouldn't want a CD drive, and the 1TB is $5 more than a 500gb, I highly suggest getting the 1tb. That build is about as good as you can get with 600. Overclocking makes a huge difference and is a completely different subject, but you would also want a Hyper 212 Evo. You can overclock your GPU too, that is fairly simple. If you want to spend a bit more, you can also get a 7950 (or a 7970 for even more), which I would suggest doing if you have the money, if not, that is still a great build.

Thanks in that case I'll stick with the 1tb and since I don't plan on using cd's I'll go without it.
So you say this isn't the best build for $600? What would make this the best it could be?

I'm confused as to why spend so much more on the motherboard? From what i know the cpu and gpu will run at the same speed across most motherboards.

That's actually rather cheap for a motherboard. They run at the same speed, just not as well and not as efficiently. Any cheaper for a motherboard and you get an ATX mini or micro, which has practically nothing as far as usb ports go, and I think a 7870 would snap it in half. $70 is a really good price for a motherboard.

Im only tentative with the motherboard because someone else suggested http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130662 which has a much more attractive price tag. But then again i dont know jack squat about motherboards.

Okay i think im down to one last question. What if i went back to a 6 core processor and went back to the 760(or the 7970 as you suggested), instead of an 8 core with a weaker gpu(HD 7870 XT) that you suggested? Which would give me a better gaming experience?

WOW ugh im so confused, this youtube video says i can run bf4 ultra using this $588 build. I would assume if i can run bf4 on ultra with it it will also last me beyond this consoles life which is what im looking for...So what about our $675 build? thought that was the closest i could get to bf4 ultra??
