Hello guys,

I'm really curious if it's possible to get the concept/process of an ink printers and apply
it in the Pen? If it's possible then what are the possible hardware/components can i use?
I'm trying to make a pen that can switch basic colors and can switch colors thru the use of smartphone app. Help me what are the possible hardware/components should i use?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voice_coil <-- when you use a voice coil with a object other than a speaker dome, you can make a motor.

Some other options you have are:
-Ink pump (ink in a syringe, controlled by a linear motor)
- Rotating head (spring loaded pen heads on a rotating drum such that only one is out at a time
1) No, because inkjets extrude hot ink through pre-assembled heads, and it would likely clog up a ballpoint pen since the ink would cool enough on the ball. You could theoretically move the entire print heads (notice multiple) to the front and avoid a ball altogether, but there's no way you are getting one head in the size of a standard pen, let alone four.
2) If you want basic colors, consider modifying a standard 3 in one or 5 in one pen, replacing the manual slider with a solenoid/vcm style one (you might be able to do it with simply wrapping wire around the ink tube and placing a permanent magnet in the middle

Neither method will be all that pretty, more of a show and tell than a personal use device.

by the way what is a VCM? We're making this because it's our school project so we decided to create this concept but unfortunately this idea (we got from scribble pen) didn't exist. So I really need help even if it's simple project. Sorry for my bad english. :)
