Hi there this is my first post so if its not sure if its in the right place, please move it. Just looking for some advise from the experts.

So here's the situation. I am looking into building gaming pc for myself in the next couple of weeks. But the problem is my little brother has been wanting to play DayZ and Minecraft on pc for a long time, he does have a Xbox One but only a old underpowered pc. Meaning when I build mine in the near future he is going to be very envious and probably quiet upset (first world problems ayy) so I was hoping I could get his pc up to a point where he could at least join me on DayZ and also play Minecraft himself. I realise that he would have to drop the settings and would get the full intended experience but it would at least be playable and enjoyable.

So I started having a look on around online and searched the CPU (E5700 3.00Ghz Pentium DC) that he has, to look for games that others with this chip are playing. And to my surprise people are playing BF3, GTAv (Its true) and even Far Cry 3 on ULTRA. So up to now im guessing the CPU will suffice.

The next problem is the Ram he does have 4GB's but it is only DDR2 would this be "okay" for DayZ and Minecraft.

And last but certainly not least he will definitely need a new Graphics Card, this is where I need the most advice as the card will be bought used and most likely of eBay, it needs to be able to run DayZ and Minecraft. But i dont want him (or most likely me) to spend any more than necessary. If the card is just be going to be bottle necked by the other components.

Pheww that was a long winded post, hope their is someone on here willing to take the time to help me (my bro) out, it would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance. Glitch.

that processor will work for minecraft and dayZ, but I am not sure about GTAV, as it wants four cores to run. that processor is not a great one, but if you can spend $150 then the best cad to go with it would be a 750ti. of course that would let him play minecraft well above lowest settings, and it is not exactly cheap. a good card to play minecraft at reasonable settings would be the R7 250X ($~80) the GT740 ($70-80) or even a R7 250 or GT 730. which are closer to$60. 4GB of RAM is not great, but for those games it will be fine. the R7 250X does not sound like it will work due to the power limitations I suspect his build has. what wattage is the power supply?
