HELP!!!! alienware 17 for a PC set

hello guys. i would like to hear your opinion about this.
a friend of mine offered me his rig in exchange for my laptop.
can you pls give me some in sights if this would be a win trade or am I just gonna waste my laptop? forgive my grammar

If all the parts work properly, it is a steal.
You just have to upgrade the RAM to at least 8 gb (16 gb better still) in dual channel and you will have a beast.
