Hello!

I got a question, I am getting the Sennheiser 600's, but I am a total noob and trying to grab up an amp + DAC (If I need the DAC?). I'm really just trying to get these headphones working with my desktop. I am very lost and need some guidance.

Been reading around and I found this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00A2QM5O6/ref=psdc_537344_t1_B00CF9JON8?th=1. Would this get me up and running? I just want to be able to use my headphones to it's full extent with no strings attached.

Do I need to get a DAC with this? If I do, then I don't want to get that. Please recommend me a DAC + AMP combo if this is the case. I really don't want to use my DAC that's in my mobo since I've heard that they are usually Mod edit: keep it clean please.
If I'm totally wrong about everything, please just let me know and point me in the right direction.

Thank you for helping me out, and please excuse my ignorance!

As a new audiophile your first stop should be Massdrop. Or now it's Drop, they changed the name for some crazy reason. Massdrop redefined the headphone market with their collaborations. The HD 6XX is an HD 650 with a different finish for ~$200 for instance.

In my opinion for $150 the best value is the Massdrop O2 / SDAC. This is an amp/DAC combo and it's $100 cheaper than buying an O2/ODAC from JDS labs or Mayflower ( I have a Mayflower ). Also the SDAC measures better than the older ODAC. This is a very neutral combo with a low output impedance that will work with everything from sensitive IEMs to harder to drive planars.

The HD 600s and HD...

I wouldn't start with tubes. What's your budget? The HD600 scales very well with better equipment.

The HD 600s and HD 650s scale like almost no other headphones. The better your equipment the better they will sound. This is a deep rabbit hole. :p

It's a DAC and an amp so all you will do is plug it into a USB port. It will come with a cable but it's just a regular USB cable. Windows 10 won't even need any drivers.
