Please help me solve this problem. My Asus PG258 that i bought 2 years ago keeps turning off randomly but the power led light is on and the buttons are unresponsive. I tried re-plugging the outlet but it wont turn on the only way to turn on this monitor is to re-plug the ac adapter output on its back.

Note: I have 2 Asus adapters and i already tested each adapters and there's no problem on them.

The warranty is not valid anymore. My father disassembled the monitor to check whats going on inside. I think the problem on this monitor is the power supply... Where can i buy this type of power supply?

Since you don't have a warranty anymore troubleshooting it and getting this sucker working by yourself is your only option. is your monitor the ASUS ROG SWIFT PG258q? if so that's a monitor absolutely worth saving, but why do you think its a power issue? a faulty mainboard/scaler can do all kinda stuff. have you tried using a different power cord? (I know it sounds silly but this has caused me problems MULTIPLE times) because of your description It's obvious that it isn't a software issue or anything associated with your actual PC, but a driver update or reinstall wouldn't hurt. Who knows that might do something.

Here's a link to a listing of your mainboard: https://www.ebay.com/i/132507168200?chn=ps

i forgot to mention that i still can use the monitor. the only problem is when im using it it randomly shuts off the screen no display or anything the led lights are still on. I tried pressing the power button and it wont turn off i tried pressing the menu and it wont show the menus its like the monitor is randomly freezing. but thank you verymuch for the link. If theres nothing else i can do with this monitor i will buy that one.

No problem! i'm sure with a little patience on eBay you could get a better deal but 80$ is pretty good. when using your monitor, is there any other abnormal things other than a sudden absolute screen blackout and button lockup? Does it shut down more often while doing something specific? Before i buy new PCB parts i try to reflow them in my old toaster oven, for me it has been a 70% success rate but there is a small chance that you could break it worse.
Here's a link on how to do that, its the same process with all boards: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Xanr4jkmEc

I tried your recommendation but it seems not to work. I put my PCB board in the oven with its Gsync board separately I set the oven to 190c and timer set to 10mins.

the problem is still there when i use the monitor like 10-15 mins the Screen goes black again no back light or anything but the Power led light is still on and the buttons are not responding... Pressing power button wont turn the led light off.

should i bake the PSU board too? if not then i will but the whole pcb part on ebay. 🙁

I have this issue as well. Brand new monitor, too! Was playing a game of Overwatch and the screen randomly lost power but the LED status light was still red from the gsync connection--the OSD menu wouldn't work either. Two days later it works. Sending it for RMA and I hope they don't just turn it on and say "oh it works" and send it back.
