Hello, I just got a new computer and apparently it came without any OS. The OS I got on a stick original windows 10 flash drive instead of CD.

The computer boots to bios directly, shows all that clock speed, ram, drives, etc. USB manager shows one drive, one mouse and one keyboard. So its seeing the drive but when I go to boot menu, it shows "No Boot devices found". I have switched the mouse around and keyboard around to all the ports and they work in all the USB ports. I have tried the stick on my laptop and it can read the Windows stick so there is nothing wrong with it.

So I cant install windows because it wont allow boot to the stick, or boot to anything else except Bios.

Please help how I can get this PC to read the windows stick and boot to it?

Thank you!

Solution

it's possible that either your bios is uefi only and your usb is mbr, and rather than trying to explain how to convert it to gpt
i suggest going to microsofts website and making a new usb install using their media creation tool
when you power on your pc, hit "del" or "f10"
Look for the section labeled "boot order"
look for your usb device it should be labeled "uefi (brand name of usb) boot manager" or if you run a legacy bios it will just say "usb (brand name of usb)
Move the usb device to #1 in the boot order then save and restart
