So heres the jist. I been using a Dell XPS desktop for awhile with this issue because I never needed to get in to the BIOS. Now I do cause I wanted to adjust boot disk order. Windows boots up fine every time. I'm running dual LG 4k monitors via display port with a EVEA GeForce GTX 1080 card. My problem is that I cannot see anything before windows [10] starts to load up. No "DELL" logo or anything. Now i've hit the F2 (or whatever it was) i think takes me to the BIOS and when I do, Windows doesnt load, so I think i'm in the BIOS, but I can't see it.

To my knowledge the gfx card drivers are up to date, the bios version is up to date. I've also changed the CMOS battery. What would be the best course of action so I can see my BIOS? If i had to guess, i would say the monitors aren't getting video signal from the computer until windows boots

Try booting using the onboard graphics port, or try a different monitor. I've had this same problem happen with an old eMachines I used to use, and all I did was switch out the monitor and it worked.

After you hit the power button keep mashing the F-12 key you will get a boot up prompt. It should have bios almost at the bottom of the list.
The problem is I dont thnk my monitors are getting the signal at boot up till windows starts. When I hit the F key to get in to the bios the monitors get stuck on being blank, which makes me assume that the computer did go in to the bios but I can't see anything

So I unplugged both LG monitors completely for an older 1080p Acer monitor using HDMI cable from the internal card this time. Same result. Still black until the Windows log in screen shows up. If I press F2 when the computer starts then it just stays black. I assume cuz perhaps im in the BIOS, i just can't see anything to go any further so I have to power off and back on to get back in to windows.

I FOUND A BAND AID REMEDY.

So while working on this issue I came across x2 sticks of 4gb ram that I forgot I had with two open spots so I decided to toss em in with my other two sticks of 8gb (double checked the 4 - 8 - 4 - 8 configuration would be ok and it was. When powering on i got a "RAM HAS CHANGED" and gave me option to go in to the BIOS. But i think what the band-aid fix was is I attached a DVI cable from my gfx card to that older ACER monitor as I was able to see the DELL Splash screen with it. I haven't tried using my newer monitors cuz im just gonna celebrate the small win for now, but I guess thats what I have to do if i want to get in to the BIOS. Keep the DVI cable out and connect it to my oldest monitor if i need to get in to the BIOS
