Help boot issue

A black screen appears after my bios, but before my windows boot, it lasts about 15-20 seconds but I eventually get into windows 10. I've been trying to fix it for weeks without any improvement. I tried installing windows onto a different drive and it still showed the black screen before I got into windows. My specs are; i7 6700K, msi z170a sli plus, 32Gbs of G.skill ddr4, samsung m.2 950 pro ssd which has the operating system on it and a 500gb samsung evo, don't have a graphics card yet because I'm waiting to get my hands on a gtx 1080. any help would be great

do you have the latest BIOS? ON newer boards it helps with compatibility issues: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/Z170A-SLI-PLUS.html#down-bios

Check you have latest drivers for chipset too. And Sata controllers
