Hello.
I got a Fujitsu laptop (Lifebook A series. Model - A555) around 6 months ago and it’s been working completely fine apart from when I dropped it on the floor and the screen smashed but that is now all fixed.
The other day, I turned on my laptop and it said ‘checking media’ and then a message popped up saying ‘bootable device was not found.’ I instantly began to panic and looked at some YouTube videos and things like that. However, nothing is working.
When I go onto boot menu It comes up with two options which both say network and then some numbers and letters after them which are pretty much the same except one says ‘IPv4’ & the other says ‘IPv6’ - I don’t know if this is useful or not.
I go onto BIOS Setup and go to boot (this is what worries me) and I have 6 options -
1. Floppy disk drive:
2. Drive0 HDD:
3. CD/DVD drive:
3. NETWORK:
5. USB HDD:
6. USB CD/DVD:
When looking at YouTube videos, I’ve spotted that people tend to have writing after the ‘:’ but I don’t??
I even tried to hard reset my laptop but I don’t have a DVD for it (I don’t even think my laptop has a disk drive) and it says that I should have the option that is ‘recovery and utility’ when I’m on the boot menu but I don’t, all I have is two options that say network.
I’m not very good with this side of computers so I’m sorry if what I’m saying sounds stupid.
Thank you in advance.
