Recently, i built a rig with a ZOTAC GEFORCE GTX 1060 AMP! Edition 6GB. The other day i took it out to take some pictures because i was planning on selling it. I saw that the shop which i purchased the card from have their own warranty sticker and the expire date of the warranty at the shop is 11/2021. There are 2 other warranty sticker which belong to ZOTAC SERVICE CENTER of VIETNAM, the one on the back plate said 12 months and ticked the following date 8/17. The other one is on the side and said 6 months and ticked the same exact date like the one on the back plate.

I emailed ZOTAC and they said that my card belongs to a unit that originally shipped for mining coins so the 12 months warranty for the main and the 6 months warranty for the fans applied. Which i am * confuse because i paid the price for a totally new card and now i'm wondering if i bought one which was used for mining coins.

I looked everywhere in their FAQ and see that they have a 48 months warranty periods for any VGA. I wrote a post on a 2nd hand gaming gear group on Facebook in my country and a lot of people are saying that it's not a big deal and if i have any problems with the card, just bring it to the shop.

I refused to abide by that analogy because the shop didn't mention anywhere that a different warranty policy for ZOTAC card was applied. I looked everywhere on the net and didn't see anywhere mentioning a different warranty period and policy for VGA that mines coins.

The people on Facebook are disgusting and threw profanities at me for refusing to accept their analogy. Can anyone help me? I'm so * pissed off right now. Am i in the wrong in this mess?

As it turns out, i'm in the wrong here because that's just how they do business here in this third world country where shops have exclusive deals with approved/official distributor about warranty policies during this PC hardware price crisis. Still sounds weird to the ear, this is the first category product i've heard which the shop's warranty is more important than the manufacture's warranty. According to the official distributor and approved service center that i called, the warranty sticker which belongs to the brand doesn't mean a darn thing, what counts is the shop's warranty sticker. Oh well, another lesson learned. What a spoiled little brat i am when my country's politics is a mess and i'm here ranting about graphic cards...

Can you elaborate/explain more with me? Because the sheer amount of people saying i'm in the wrong in this are people from my country and a lot of them saying things that don't make sense to me. Literally a bunch of em. They are literally convincing me to drop it because i'm wrong. While that shop sold me a card which has less than 3/4 of the warranty period applies to every single ZOTAC card and not only that it was shipped originally for mining coins. Not a single sane person would be convinced that it's a new card and not a single sane person would buy it at full price even if it hasn't been used for mining simply because of the warranty policy applies to this card specifically from ZOTAC, which smells fishy than a * fish market. Is there such a policy in the beginning because i don't see there are announcement made anywhere on the Internet or those people are just pulling it out of the *?

I understand you are upset, but....>

As soon as I see ZOTAC then I automatically know to drop my expectations when it comes to... everything. I'd drop it, honestly. You aren't going to get anywhere with ZOTAC. If the card is performing fine (you can bench it to confirm) then you don't have to worry about it dying for years. Tell the person you are selling it to that it performs fine no warrantly or attempt to return it if it bothers you that much.

I don't know, it was originally there on the card when i bought it. But the sticker has ZOTAC SERVICE CENTER OF VIETNAM on it so i guess it's the approved distributor of Zotac in Vietnam or directly from Zotac Vietnam because Zotac actually has offices here with full on website and Facebook page.

That's really ache my heart because i just bought it less than a month ago and if i say that, it would means a steep price drop for the card.

I'm sorry to the moderator for my language, i'm in a rush so i didn't see the warning about my language. It will not happen again.

"ZOTAC SERVICE CENTER" would indicate, to me, that it had been sold, used, and then sent back to the Service Center for (whatever). Then sold again, to you.

So no new card actually has the stickers "ZOTAC SERVICE CENTER" on it???

I checked some unboxing videos of the card and saw nowhere that they have those warranty stickers on the card. I think you might be right, sir.

Sorry people of Tom's Hardware for wasting your time and cursing too much at the beginning. I guess i solved the problem my sizzelf.
