[SOLVED] Help Building a Budget Gaming PC

Hi all,

I'm trying to help my friend build a budget gaming PC. Now, this PC is strictly just for Gaming as he does his work at the office or on his laptop. He's a casual player and plays games like Dota 2, CoD and Battlefield, various RTS Games. So nothing too crazy. I won't be using PC Part Picker for this list as I live in Indonesia.

This is the build:

• CPU: Intel i3-9100F
• Motherboard: ASRock H310CM-HDV
• RAM: KLEVV Bolt X Series 1x8GB 2666MHz
• GPU: Zotac Geforce GTX 1650 Super 4GB
• Storage: ADATA SU650 240GB
• PSU: Seasonic ECO 430W Bronze
• Case: Cube Gaming IRVBOW
• Monitor: Armaggedon Pixxel+ Pro 22” 75Hz 1080p
• Mouse: Logitech G102
• Keyboard: Digital Alliance Meca Warrior Rainbow

The grand total is just under 8mil, which is just under 500$ US.

What do you think?

Also, I'm not really knowledgeable when it comes to the Intel platform for CPUs. I heard from a friend that the 9100F is a good pick as opposed to the 3200G and cheaper as well (not only due to the CPU price being lower but Intel motherboard prices here are much cheaper than B450s). Where I'm confused is the motherboard options. I know Z370/Z390 as mostly reserved for "k" processors for overclocking, but I've found that there are 3 types of Intel motherboards compatible with this socket; H310, H370 & B360. After looking online a little bit, I am still a bit unclear on the differences. Especially since a website mentioned that H310 boards only support PCIe Gen 2? Will this be a problem for this GPU?

B365 or Z390 boards are guaranteed to ship with a BIOS version that supports 9th gen Intel CPUs. Other boards may require a BIOS update using an 8th gen CPU. Some retailers offer free BIOS updates.

I would say the best website here is www.tokopedia.com. NewEgg is not a viable option due to import taxes. The retailer is offering an already updated BIOS with the H310. I just wanted to know if it's a viable board as I'm not too familiar with Intel boards in general.

It appears that you can buy the 1600 AF (can't translate the page with my current work system). Is the pricing close to that 9100F? If so then swap that over for the extra cores/threads, with the appropriate motherboard of course. And if you can do that try for faster memory, preferably in dual channel.

For some reason, I could only find 1 online retailer that sells the 1600 AF right now and it's rather overpriced at 1,799k as opposed to the 2600 currently being sold at 1,869k. Plus I would also need to spend another 200-300k on a B350/450 board. Not really an option for me.

Anyways the build you've come up with would be fine for those games but the larger maps in newer Battlefield titles may be a bit tough to run smoothly without dips so consider lowering the settings a bit for them to be somewhat stable.

The Freesync on that monitor should help keeps things smooth.

So to give you some perspective.
1600 AF = Rp 1,799,000 = 110$
2600 = Rp 1,869,000 = 115$

But yeah, not that worth it as opposed to the 85$ price in the US.

So the H310 motherboard works in your opinion? I heard something about H310's PCIe only support Gen 2?

I see. Thanks for clarifying, that's reassuring. So do you happen to know what's fundamentally the difference between H310, H370, and B365? I couldn't get my hand on it.

Why so?

IO mostly. B-series boards offer much more functionality for not much $$ increase if your in the bargain basement.
And I feel that buying boards with only 2 RAM slots (unless it's mITX) is short-sighted so that eliminates Hx10 boards.

The budget is very strict and B360 boards is an extra 30$ here so he's gonna settle with a board with 2 slots of RAM and he'll add another 8gb in the future since he doesn't wanna skimp on anything else.
