Hello..
I am planning to upgrade my PC which is turning 9yrs old "Remember Phenom 2 CPUs ? :geek:"
So what do you think of this build for the next 4-5 years?:

CPU: Ryzen 3600 "waiting to arrive in my country"
MOBO: Not sure yet but it's going to be a B450 one
Ram: 16GB CL 16 3000-3200mhz
GPU: GTX 1660 Ti 6GB
PSU: Seasonic Bronze 520W "or 620W"
Monitor: I am keeping my old samsung 1080p 60hz

BTW the main use of this build is gaming.

Your opinion can be very helpful to me.
Thanks!

Make sure that the RAM is 2x8 GB, as this will have better performance than 1x16. In addition to this, you should confirm with the seller that the b450 has the newest BIOS version for Ryzen 3000, or get an MSI board that supports updating the BIOS without a CPU:
MSI B450 Gaming Plus
MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC
MSI B450 Tomahawk
MSI B450-A Pro
MSI B450M Bazooka Plus
MSI B450M Gaming Plus
MSI B450M Mortar
MSI B450M Mortar Titanium

The build overall is very well balanced, and there isn't anything I'd recommend changing.

Hey again..
I have been researching the msi motherboards to see which one is good for me "having my eyes on the tomahawk and pro carbon ac". However, I found some news about msi launching new "max" motherboards with chipset cache of 32mb because their current one is only 16mb in cache which is not enough for full compatibility with the new generation as I understand. Not sure if the current line's compatibility with ryzen 3000 is OK or there are issues with it.

So what do you think? Should I buy a tomahawk or a procarbon ac? or should I just wait for their "max" versions?

If those two boards, the Pro Carbon AC is the better one. However, if you are not in a rush, waiting for the b450 max, or even b550, won't hurt. Some people do experience problems with b450, and although part of it is them doing things wrong (such as not updating BIOS properly) there are some technical issues. Getting a newer generation motherboard would of course fix this.
