You do not need that expensive of a motherboard to make a decent gaming rig........there are many great motherboards in the $100-$150 range that will suit your needs. Same with the case, you don't necessarily need a high-end case, could probably find one a little cheaper (although personally I love most of CM's cases). Your PSU is way overkill, your buld would not require that much power. You could also save some money on the monitor.

For a first time gaming computer i would not reccommend going straight for one of the top gpu out ther, i think, instead of the gtx 780, go for the 770 (which is also one of the top cards out there) but if you really want the performance of the 780 which isnt far from the 770 then you could always overclock the 770. If you dont want to do that then i would say go with amd radeon. Maybe get the R9 290 and overclock it a little bit. And maybe go with a 850 power supply or 900. As for the motherboard i would suggest the MSI Z87-GD65. Hope i helped.

Maybe you could find another mobo for a little less? Maybe around 150$ instead.

But if you look at reducing the cost, it's mostly the GPU that is killing you. Do you really need a 800$ video card??? Maybe you could change for a GTX-770 for half the price and you probably won't even notice the difference while gaming.

The PSU is overkill unless you were planning on going SLI in a couple of years.

Nice monitor, but I'd be afraid it's a little too big if you sit close to it. Maybe you could trade for a smaller (and cheaper) one.
