Hi guys, i'm pretty new to this site and I would understand if people got angry for asking this question, because i'm sure people ask this alot!
I am also unsure if this is the right section, so if it isn't I apologise.
I am living in New Zealand and have a budget of about 1000-1100 for my PC and am looking to spend about 200 on a monitor. 1300 all together sounds about right.
I have come from console gaming and have little to no knowledge about building PCs.
I have been looking at buying a pre built PC off websites like PC case gear and amazon but am starting to think I want to build my own as I can save money and it isn't as hard as made out to be.
I am a big WoW player and that is the MAIN game that I want to be playing on highest settings with a good FPS, but I am also wanting a pc that plays others games pretty well.
If you know any pre built pc's and recommend then that is fine.
Do I build a pc on a website like ibuypower or just order everything from different websites?
Just hoping someone could help me get this sorted, thanks!

Solution
clock for clock, AMD based FX systems have poor performance compared to Intel. let me try and find an intel prebuilt system. also the upgrade path is better for intel
brb

Thanks mate, so that isn't very good? It just looks like a good PC due to the 16gb ram but as I said before, I know nothing about gaming PCs lol. Do you reckon I should just learn to build or buy it outright?

it was good except for the FX 8xxx processor. the one i linked has a intle i7, much better performance. and you can upgrade it to 16GB if you want, but 8 is definitly plenty for gaming. and it has expansion room inside for more HDD maybe put a SSD in there. the video card is good a few steps down from a 780TI. yeah overall this computer has more performance for a similiar price the one i linked from newegg.

Yeah i'm kind of leaning towards that.
Do you have a quick build that would run games (mostly WoW) for a grand?

I literally don't have a single thing, I haven't even been payed yet but i'm starting to look at my parts now.

oh let me add a OS one sec

The GTX 760 costs less and performs about the same, so you might consider it if you want less heat dissapation or features such as PhysX, Shadowplay, or future G-Sync support. Both cards are great, though. Since you are coming from a console, I recommend that you get a USB PS3 or xbox 360 controller that you could plug in.

Wow thanks mate, that's really helpful! So If I ordered all of that online to my house, how hard would it be to put it all together? Is it really difficult or would someone with absolutely no knowledge be able to do it?

And is Windows 7 better than windows 8 for gaming? I don't want to buy windows 7 and within 3 months I have to buy windows 8 because it's outdated or something.
Nevertheless, that's really helpful and I appreciate it. Is there anything you would maybe downgrade just so I can have a bit more money to blow on a monitor and mouse etc..
