Help buy a PSP3000 for christmas?

Should i buy a PSP3000?

I have about 100$ (happy to spend around 150$ or more) left over from christmas presents, and im fairly interested in 'jailbreaking' it or something to play my old Playstation games on it. Anyway thanks for the help in advance. Which pack should i get? i would like it new but if its not possible or what ever ill consider Pre owned. This is a pack i was considering. Or any other pack you guys think i should get. Im in to pretty much everthing, action, RPG, Strategy.

I like Kingdom Hearts, Dungeon seige, Star wars ect some games i know that are on PSP.

My main thing would be to buy it from somewhere where you'll have proper backup if it decides to die on you. Regarding your other question I'm not sure how much we are allowed to discuss that on this forum. And I don't want to fall foul of the rules. But yes it is possible to play back ups of your old PS games on it. Feel free to PM me.

Oh and be grateful for the prices in the USA. In Britain Sony have stopped stocking them in their central warehouse. Because Europe was given the dumbed down version the PSP E1000. Second hand over here they are going for over 200 quid (over 300 usd). I just bought the last Hannah Montana bundle they had at Sony online. (it is revolting pink/lilac but it was that or nothing as they say they don't believe they will get any more into the UK and it is the same all over the EU.

My opinion: It is not inappropriate or illegal to 'jailbreak' a gaming console like the PSP which you have purchased. It should also be OK to play PS1 games that you legally own on your device. Note: a PSP 1000 unit might be better choice.
