So I have spent 2 days so far trying my hardest to get my pc back and running. The likely culprit was the newest windows update that was supposed to help increase security as 6 hours after the update I got this BSOD. There is no backup or best version to back up to and scf scan now in prompt mode yielded a message saying a scan was already in progress.
Anyway I bought a new hdd today and a flash drive to try and boot windows 7 onto the new drive and either create an image or a backup. My 4 other drives have files I need on them and not all of them have been backed up.
My question is that if I try this method will my files still exist if I'm restoring from a point that only has my OS on it and now files or will windows fail to recover the files on the corrupted ssd drive?

Thanks.

Solution
If you install Windows on the new drive, none of your files ore restore points will exist on it. You will need to copy them from the original drive.
