Hello guys!

I have been checking most of the guides and threads here about overclocking haswell chips. I have almost tried all the recommended settings stated but I only can get to 4.2ghz on my 4670k processor.

Right now my current BIOS settings are the ff:
CPU Ratio/Multiplier - 42
Vcore - 1.225v (Adaptive) //I put this to manual when changing settings.
Cache Ratio - 42
Cache Voltage - 1.2v
XMP Profile - 1866 CAS 9-10-9-28-2
DRAM Voltage - 1.5v

This is what I have right now, most of the other values are in their default or auto. My target target core is 4.4ghz, but I can't seem to pass my current settings. I have tried different settings on my BIOS setup, I even followed Intel God's guide but still no luck.

I started playing with Vccin (CPU Initial Input Voltage) also with my RAM in default settings (even went down to 1333Mhz just to see if it stabilizes) and then putting the CPU ratio to 44 and cache ratio to 34/35. I stopped playing with the overclock settings and went to my current one when I got to 1.275v on my Vcore since I still keep crashing even with that high voltage. The error I kept on getting is the WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR... I am out of cards now on what settings/combinations to play with..

Is this because I got a below average chip?

Here is the specs of my PC:
Intel i5 4670k
Corsair h100i
Gigabyte GTX 760 2gb rev2.0
ASUS Z87-Plus
Corsair HX750 80+Gold PSU
G.Skill 8GB RAM (2x4GB) 1866 9-10-9-28-2

1.225v is pretty low honestly, you need to increase your voltage as long as your cooler can handle it which it probably can. 1.25v should be safe with that h100i and definitely much higher if you delid it.

Yeah, I'm in the brink of just going to stay with what I have right now.. but before I give up on overclocking my processor, maybe I can get to find a silver lining with you guys here in Tom's Hardware.

Thank you for your answers.. but yeah.. right now I'm still trying to OC it. I'm in 1.265v on my Vcore right now and I still get BSOD. The other settings that I have together with the Vcore are:

System Input Voltage: from 1.752 to 1.9 (I did go to 1.920 and no luck).
RAM: 1333Mhz
Cache Ratio: 34
Cache Voltage: 1.2v
Vcore: 1.265v (Manual Mode)

I went and try prime95 on my 4.2Ghz setup and the highest that I get is 75c and sometimes will jump to 80c but during my day-to-day usage, my max only goes up to 60-65c with 28-30+c when idle.
I haven't tried doing stress testing in 4.4ghz since once I get into windows it will crash right away..

My OS is Windows 8.1 (forgot to put it here)

@davcon
I will try the settings you've linked. Thank you!

Well if you're changing anything to do with the cache I would just leave that on whatever auto setting you have, it should be at about the same as your multiplier but it has a max and min. I'd also leave vcore in manual particularly when you're doing things like Prime95. The reason for that is because Prime95 does not send the right signals for it to work properly in adaptive mode so the voltage will likely never pick up like it's supposed to. So leaving it in manual is probably your best option.
