Help can't change resolution

Hi I am an idiot with computers, so please be patient Lol. I have a HP all in one and I need to connect another monitor for work. I bought a USB 3.0 to VGA adapter. I downloaded the software and I am able to get it on a second monitor. Problem is its only giving me 800x600 resolution and it is huge that it hurts my eyes. I tried changing the resolution, but there's no other option besides the 800x600. Pleaseee helpppp

If your USB 3.0 to VGA device came with drivers make sure you install them.
If you are using a USB 2.0 or lower then the maximum resolution is 800 × 600.
If you use a USB 3.0 port, then it will support higher resolutions.
