I'm frustrated out of my mind.

I'm having a completely miserable time trying to install Neverwinter Nights 2. I've got Vista Home Premium 64-bit, and just bought the game after being assured on various forums that it will work with Vista 64. I tried to install it, and the logo came up and it looked like the installshield wizard was getting ready to roll...then nothing.

The wizard vanished, cursor changed from the hourglass to the arrow, and...well, nothing. I let it go for a bit then came back, and still nothing. This is not the first time this has happened. I had the same problem with Medieval II Kingdoms. Medieval II works great, but Kingdoms refuses to install. I don't even get an error message. What the heck? :fou: My other games (Half-Life 2, Oblivion) work perfectly, so I don't think it's the drive.

I tried copying the disc's files to the desktop and running the setup.exe from there, but still no dice. Tried running as administrator, and nothing. Googling the problem turned up lots of complaints about installing NWN2 on 64, but everyone else seems to get error messages rather than an installer that just starts up and then vanishes. Then there are those who say they're running the game on Vista 64 without a hitch, so I don't know what to think.

Something is stopping the installer from working before it even starts.

If anyone could help me get this game working, I'd sure appreciate it.

Heya,

You should have the ability to right-click on the executable and change it to compatability mode and run it in 32bit for example. Try something along those lines.

Very best,

Set the installer/setup exe to run as Administrator and also to run in XP SP2 mode.

After installation make sure its fully patched up to date before playing.

Hope this helps you out.
