Ok first before I get into my issue here are my PC specs:
These specs are acording to game debate hardware scan

AMD APU A10-7700K Quad Core
R9 270x gigabyte 2GB OC Edition(now the card I have is xfx version and I m not sure on the OC)
Ram: 16(PC detects 12)
Display: 1920x1080

Now According to Can I run it and GD hardware scan both say I can run this game fine.
But, I get 60fps in the menu and play of the game animations then from choosing characters to the gameplay I get 20 to 30. Sometimes under 20 which gives me a headache...
This is coming from a PC that can run the new battlefront on all ultra between 35 to 45 fps even at 60 at times. Now I think the issue is GPU bottlenecking. So downloaded after burner raised the core clock a bit and used cortex only raised it to 30 to 35 or 40 if lucky...Though I am an idiot when it comes to overclocking I understand the risks but I have the cx600 corsair psu. SOmeone please give me advice on how to fix this without having to go out and buy new parts.

And yes My drivers are all up to date.
And I play on all low the settings barely make a difference anyway
and I also get good frames when in menus like 60 and such

Thanks :)

Solution

Sorry I play on all low and it doesent matter what settings I do the frame rate barely changes

hum... well, a 7700k is really close to a 7850k i have played Overwatch on and i got better frame rates, even when using the integrated graphics so you should defiantly be seeing better with a R9 270x in there...

just standard trouble shooting for now.
1: check the launch parameters for the game. (Options>Game Settings>Additional command line arguments) if there's any like "-frameratecap=60" and "-frameratecapglue=30", remove them.
2: Is the display plunged into the desecrate GPU? if not, switch it to the GPU.
3: Is the motherboard BIOS set to default to the PCI Express graphics adapter?
4: check CPU and GPU load during game play. (GPUz and task manager can do this). i recommend uploading screenshots of both if you do this as its just for diagnosing, it wont fix anything.
5: Uninstall and reinstall graphics drivers.
6: Uninstall and reinstall the game.
∞: I heard a recent patch to Overwatch tanked frame rates, its possible this is whats effecting you.

On the drivers front you definitely want to make sure they're in order. I was getting crashes on my Nvidia GPU before I updated my drivers. Here's how to do it properly:

If you have graphics or driver issues, one of the most common fixes is a clean uninstall and removal of your graphics drivers.

To uninstall your drivers, first download and run Display Driver Uninstaller, and follow it's recommendations of booting into safe mode and ect.
(This is a direct download link so you don't grab the wrong version)
http://www.guru3d.com/files-get/display-driver-uninstaller-download,20.html

You'll download a compressed file called "[Guru3D.com]-DDU.zip"
Right click and choose extract.
Go into the folder and run the DDU v##.##.exe
This will extract more files to this folder.
Run Display Driver Uninstaller.exe
Choose Yes when it asks you to boot into SafeMode.
After you've rebooted into safe mode.
When DDU comes up, if it hasn't selected your GPU manufacturer (Nvidia/AMD/Intel) then choose it from the drop down list
Press the Clean and Restart option
If a window comes up asking to disable the Windows automatic installation of display drivers click yes.

After (or before removing the old drivers, just put the new ones on the desktop or somewhere handy) rebooting back into Windows, manually download the latest drivers from Nvidia or AMD, don't use auto detect, choose you GPU model and OS from the drop down lists.

Ok so I did everything like you said and there was a new driver which I installed...but it didn't really help it was amd crimson 16. 6 something I think thansk for the help anyway.

Well, at least we got it out of the way.

It's odd that your PC is only detecting 12 GBs, but maybe not. Your APU is possibly taking 4 GIGs of ram to power it's VRAM which id doesn't need if you're only using the GPU. If you're using them in a crossfire config for better FPS (and this may result in worse FPS if the game doesn't support crossfire).

Uhh, also are you sure you have your video cable connected to the GPU and not the motherboard?

i did steps 5 and 6 for 1 I checked and it was blank. I don't really understand the rest so i will assume it won't do that. installed the gpu myself and I bought the right cables and everything and I am using an hdmi to connect my monitor. 6 seemed like it worked but it didn't I get between 30-40 during gameplay when there is no action and 20 and lower when it gets intense. Thank you for you help :)

Yes I installed it myself I wouldn't be able to play the new battlefron so well if it weren't for that 😉

#2 is just checking that the monitor is plugged into the graphics card. A common thing of APU threads with dedicated GPU's is being plugged into the wrong display out plugs.

#3 is making sure the computer is set to render on the dedicated GPU instead of the integrated GPU. This can be checking in the system BIOS. Normally it is set to "auto" which should switch to using a graphics card when one is detected.

#4 is diagnostic checks to see what part is hindering the frame rate. GPUz is rather handy for seeing how your graphics card is behaving. http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/SysInfo/GPU-Z/

The other part to #4 is to check the GPUz readings against the Task Manager in windows. Game performance is largely determined by the GPU and CPU so checking anyone without the other is a little silly.

For the rest, thank you for trying them, stinks that didn't resolve it... I was just playing Overwatch last night and didn't experience any frame rate anomalies so the chance of #∞ being the case is a bit diminished... i recommend checking out your BIOS and turning off your integrated GPU to release the RAM its reserved sense your not using it.

Yes my monitor is plugged into the graphics card and I will test 4 and get back to you on that. As for 3 I don't know hwere in the bios I would go.

Sadly BIOS are all laid out differently so i cant really direct you to it. Your motherboards Manual should tell you where it is or you can just poke around. (but don't touch anything you don't understand)
