Help- CF card problem

I've come back from holiday and tried to import my photos onto my laptop from my camera, and windows is prompting me to format the card?

I've used PhotoRec to get 373 photos recovered, but there are nearly 800 on the card.

Are the rest lost?

Is the card corrupted? As I can view all the photos on the camera fine..

I'm unsure whether to format the card and then try to recover all the photos? will that work?

I really do not want to loose these photos!

It's a 32GB Kingston CF card if that helps..

Do it another time or two, see if it will pick anything up. Or try different software. Recuva is a popular free option. Probably won't get all of them back though.

I suggest using sandisk utility called: Rescue Pro Deluxe. That program has saved my data a few times. I think it's $60 and it's the best recovery software I've found.
