Hi everyone,
MadAdmiral gave me a wonderful build recently:
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/284523-31-gaming-photoshop-build-request-1500-budget#t2099060

CPU/RAM: i7-930 and G.Skill Pi 3x2 GB 1600 mhz CAS Latency 7 $465
Mobo: ASRock X58 Extreme $170
GPU: HD 5870 $410
HDD: Seagate 7200.12 500 GB $55 *note: I subbed in the 1TB model.
PSU: Antec Earthwatts 750W $85 after rebate
Case: HAF 922 $80 after rebate
Optical: Cheap SATA DVD burner $22
Monitor: Asus 23" 1080p $180 after rebate

I was all ready to buy it when to my disappointment I discovered that my Canadian credit card won't work at newegg.com. Also, the order is being shipped to California, and taxes tossed on an extra $120ish.

From what I can tell, TigerDirect seems to take Canadian credit cards. I've heard some bad things about them, so would of course prefer to use newegg. However, as that isn't really possible, I'll bite the bullet at take TigerDirect.

The problem comes because a number of the parts recommended by MadAdmiral aren't available on TD. So I was wondering if any of you amazing people here could help me find replacement parts comparable in both quality and price.

The parts I haven't been able to find are:
Mobo: ASRock X58 Extreme MoBo.
RAM: G.Skill Pi 3x2 GB 1600 mhz CAS Latency 7
PSU: Antec Earthwatts 750W
GPU (Same card, though not the same maker. Is there much of a difference? The one I've picked out is this: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6023353&sku=M452-5870)

If you guys could help me find equivalent parts in price and quality (or better deals!) that would be wonderful!

Thanks again!

I don't live in Canada, so I'm not sure, but shouldn't this work?

www.newegg.ca

I would assume they take candian credit cards. And I would also think they have the same parts in stock. But then I don't know if they would ship it to california...

Good luck,
sleep time for me!

Edit ( i love editing!):
If you still want to go with TD:

MoBo: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4914663&CatId=4070

RAM: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4282840&CatId=4327

PSU: (not modular though)
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3438609&CatId=2533

GPU: for 10$ more i would take XFX over msi

Thanks for the replies.
As for newegg.ca and NCIX, the same build comes to $300ish more when built in Canadian dollars. With me in the USA right now, and with the dollar hovering around even, it just makes much more sense to buy from an American site.

BigBurn, thanks for the build! As for the TD parts, they look great. I had a question about the PSU, though. It says it's SLi certified, but not Crossfire certified. For further expandability down the road, would I want to have a Crossfire PSU (since I'm using an ATI card), or does it not matter?

Aside from that, everything looks great!
Thanks!
