It doesn't seem like there is anything out there that is overwhelmingly the best.... so here I am...

I have had my trusty Logitech G15 for 7+ years, but with a new computer build comes a new keyboard.

I have really no idea what is good. I am looking for a gaming keyboard, but want to be able to use it for regular tasks too (web browsing, media, documents, etc.). Also looking for RGB backlighting.

I was looking at the Logitech G910 which according to reviews is good for gaming, but not so much for everything else... Looked at the G.Skill Ripjaws, but the latest reviews on newegg are crummy. The Razer Blackwidow Chroma has decent reviews, but apparently the keys can't be removed to be cleaned.

Hopefully someone will have guidance or an idea of what to look for.

If you want a good mix of everything I suggest the Brown switches, since they are honestly kind of good for everything. If you want a keyboard similar to the G910 you can consider the G710+. It only has white backlighting though. I have the G710+ myself and am very happy with it, especially since I have to write a lot of documents and feel like they are vey responsive in games.

Personally, I don't like Razer products, so I steer clear. Plus they use their own brand of switches, which seems sketchy to me. I use a Corsair K70 RGB keyboard with Cherry MX Red switches. You have to know what kind of switches you would like.

I saw that on Newegg earlier, but it had 2 bad reviews (and those were the only reviews... at least with RGB specifically) Now I can't pull up the page. What is your experience with it? Easy to use for everything? RGB works well? Can you clean it?

Since I'm coming from a non-mechanical keyboard (I think - I wasn't really paying attention when I got it before) What would be closest to that? It seems Cherry MX Brown is the middle of the road? How would you compare it with Red?
