Hey, I'm looking for a good power supply for my PC upgrade listed below:

Current build:
GPU: AMD Radeon HD7750
PSU: 500 Watts Turbolink ATX-TL500W-BK 12V
MB: M68MT-S2
CPU: AMD FX 4100 Quad-Core Processor
RAM: 8GB DDR3

Upgrade components: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2s1U3

The problem is, the "XFX 650W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply" on my upgrade list isn't actually $60, it's closer to $80.
Two questions:
Is that psu still worth it for $80?
And I could get the same unit, just with 750w instead for $15 more. Any point in doing that?
Thanks! :)

Hi - a good quality 550w PSU is sufficient for that sys & OC. Most sites recommend way more watts than needed,
and all recommend same power for the 770 as the 780, but the...

Most of the newest power supplies only need about 600W with no experimenting. The XFX Power Supplies are great, that's all I have to say (don't really know a lot about PSUs but I have a 750W XFX and I'm very satisfied with it).

Hi - a good quality 550w PSU is sufficient for that sys & OC. Most sites recommend way more watts than needed,

Tou need at least 34 +12v amps for your system, and any PSU with 40 or more allows plenty of headroom for OC, stress, etc.No point in going 750w with 1 GPU.

I think there were a lot of weekend deals & partpicker hasn't caught up with the reg prices yet.

This XFX has 44 +12v amps & nets to $50 after mir:

Just to clarify, did you mean that the 550w psu would work for my current rig or for the one I'm upgrading to? Thanks

The one you are upgrading to.

I think I'm going to go with this psu: http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Builder-Series-Watt-CX600/dp/B0092ML0OC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1388466885&sr=8-1&keywords=600w+psu

600w just to be safe, and pretty much the same price and the psu you mentioned. Thanks for your help! :)

OK - but you are stepping down in quality for only 2more +12v amps. The XFX is a step up from budget level,
which the CX series is.

And, Newegg has just put the hcg620 on special - $59.99 after mir
